When I first started Grateful Bread, it was just me, my sourdough starter, and a dream. I never imagined that what began as a passion for baking real, wholesome bread would grow into something so meaningful — and it’s all because of you, Santa Clarita.
Every loaf I bake starts with organic flour, a live sourdough starter, and wild yeast — no shortcuts, no commercial yeast, no preservatives. Just simple ingredients and time. There’s something deeply satisfying about knowing that each loaf is not only delicious but also easier on your gut, thanks to the natural fermentation process that helps break down sugars and makes nutrients more available to your body.
But the real magic isn’t just in the bread — it’s in the connections. It’s the neighbor who tells me their kids now ask for “the good bread.” It’s the family who brings my sourdough to every holiday gathering. It’s the fellow small business owner who traded me a jar of local honey for a loaf, and now we’re friends who cheer each other on. That’s what community looks like.
Being a microbakery in Santa Clarita means being part of something bigger than bread. This community shows up — at farmers markets, at pop-ups, through word of mouth. You share my posts, you tag your friends, you leave the kindest reviews. Every order, every message, every “this is the best bread I’ve ever had” keeps me going on the early mornings and the long bake days.
I am so grateful for every single one of you who has supported Grateful Bread on this journey. Growing alongside this incredible community is the greatest gift. You’ve turned my little kitchen dream into a real, thriving microbakery — and I don’t take a single loaf of that for granted.
From the bottom of my heart (and my oven), thank you, Santa Clarita. Here’s to many more loaves, many more memories, and this beautiful community we’re building together — one slice at a time.
With love and gratitude,
Grateful Bread 🌾
