This Labor Day, A Thank You to Every Working Parent

Happy Labor Day from Grateful Bread!

Today is a day to honor the hard work that fills our lives with purpose and meaning. And for me, this Labor Day feels especially personal.

When I started Grateful Bread, I had a dream that felt almost too good to be true: building something I love while still being present for my kids. A sourdough microbakery that works around school drop-offs and bedtime stories. A business where my kitchen doubles as my workspace and my children can watch (and taste-test) as dough rises and loaves come out of the oven.

I feel incredibly fortunate that this little bakery lets me be a working mom without missing the moments that matter most. The morning hugs, the afternoon snack chats, the lazy weekend pancake breakfasts. Sourdough has given me the gift of flexibility, and I never take that for granted.

But I also know that not every working parent has this kind of flexibility. So many parents out there are juggling long commutes, demanding schedules, and the constant pull between work and family. They show up every single day, doing their best for the people they love, even when it means sacrificing time together.

This Labor Day, Grateful Bread wants to send a heartfelt thank you to all the working parents out there. Whether you work from home, from an office, from a truck, from a hospital, or from anywhere in between, your dedication does not go unnoticed. The early mornings, the late nights, the missed moments you wish you could get back. We see you, and we appreciate you.

To every parent balancing a career and a family: you are doing an amazing job. Your kids are lucky to have you, and your hard work is building something beautiful for them, even on the days when it does not feel like it.

From our kitchen to yours, Happy Labor Day. You deserve every bit of rest today.

With love and gratitude,
Sahar & the Grateful Bread family
