Whole Wheat High Fiber Sourdough Loaf
This nutrient-dense loaf is built on a foundation of whole wheat flour and powered by a live sourdough starter — no commercial yeast, ever. The wild yeast and natural fermentation break down phytic acid in the whole grains, making minerals like iron, zinc, and magnesium more bioavailable to your body. The long fermentation also begins pre-digesting sugars and starches, which supports easier sugar digestion and steadier blood sugar levels.
Why Fiber Matters
Dietary fiber is one of the most important components of a healthy diet, yet most people fall short of the recommended daily intake. This loaf is packed with fiber from whole wheat flour, psyllium husk, chia seeds, and flax seeds — each bringing unique benefits to your gut health and overall wellness.
Psyllium husk is a soluble fiber powerhouse that absorbs water and forms a gel-like substance in the gut, promoting regularity and feeding beneficial bacteria. Chia seeds are loaded with soluble fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants, helping to slow digestion and keep you feeling full longer. Flax seeds deliver both soluble and insoluble fiber along with lignans, which support heart health and hormone balance.
Together, these ingredients support a thriving gut microbiome, help regulate cholesterol, promote healthy digestion, and contribute to sustained energy throughout the day. Combined with the benefits of sourdough fermentation from our live sourdough starter and wild yeast cultures, this loaf is as good for your body as it is for your taste buds.
